This is a full-time permanent position dependent on available transportation funding and will be responsible for assisting in snow and ice control using various types of equipment and operation of various size vehicles including transit buses. Also included in the position responsibilities will be routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, vehicles and tools used in the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department. This position regularly scheduled workday will follow the established policies for the Red Cliff Band’s “Work Week”. Schedules requiring working early hours, nights, weekends, and holidays or as weather dictates will need to follow procedures identified in the employee handbook.
This position serves as the primary support resource for IT hardware utilized by sworn officers, dispatchers, investigators, and civilian staff of Wisconsin State Patrol. Responsibilities and assignments for this position involve providing imaging, maintenance, and support for over 500 mobile data computers in use in patrol vehicles across the state, supporting dispatch center computers and peripherals, and serving as part of a team that supports a network of servers and a VoIP phone system. This position is also heavily involved in managing IT inventory, including devices and equipment in a dedicated IT lab and penthouse storage facility. This position works closely with fellow State Patrol IT Production Support Unit members as well as with members of the WisDOT Bureau of Information Technology Services (BITS).
